Mr. Walter Scott Ogilvie, age 46 of DeFuniak Springs passed away unexpectally Tuesday, September 22, 2009 in the ER at Healthmark Regional Medical Center.
He was born January 7, 1963 in Lakeland, Florida the son of William Randolph Ogilvie and Ora Lee Lingerfelt Ogilvie. Wally attended Kathleen High School in Lakeland graduating with the Class of 1981. He was employed with Morris Shea Bridge Company where he worked as a drillrig operator for some ten years. During that time his family moved to Walton County. After ill health forced his retirement Wally spent his freetime fishing, gardening, watching Nascar and cooking.
Among survivors are his daughters, Aften Ogilvie of DeFuniak and Audrey Ogilvie of Pensacola and his son Austin Ogilvie and wife Heather of DeFuniak. His parents, Randy and Ora Lee Ogilvie of Paxton, the mother of his children Connie Ogilvie of Destin. His brother Bill Ogilvie and his sister April Rose both of DeFuniak and his companion Sandra Ballard of DeFuniak. His grandchildren, Jacob, Brian and Alyssa and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Those asked to serve as casketbearers are Austin Ogilvie, Kevin Rose, Ryan Ogilvie, Bill Ogilvie, Tyler Bergstrom and Ben Dawson. Floral arrangements are being accepted. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, September 28, 2009 at 10:00 till 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Paxton Cemetery.
