Viona White Frazier

August 10, 1930 — January 30, 2015

Mrs. Viona White Frazier, age 84, widow of the late Richard Talmadge Frazier of Niceville passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 in Sterling House in Niceville. She was born August 10, 1930 in Laurel Hill, Florida, a twin to her sister Leona, the daughters of John and Archie Dale Burke White. A child of the depression, she was educated in Laurel Hill Schools, later meeting and marrying Talmadge Frazier on August 14, 1947, a marriage that would span some fifty nine years. Viona and Talmadge loved life and one another and created a beautiful family. Almost identical in appearance, she and her twin Leona delighted in “pranking” one another at any given opportunity. Once while Leona and husband Bob Ingram were in a drug store in Niceville, in the early days of soda fountains, enjoying a Coke, friends of Viona, mistaking Leona and Viona came to the table and spoke. Leona purposely allow the misidentification to go uncorrected, and as in any small town, the rumor mill set into action that Viona was in the drug store with “another man”. Viona loved all of her sisters, but she had an almost inseparable bond with her twin. Talmadge worked with Vitro for 42 years but he and Viona operated Hillside Nursery in Niceville. In addition, Viona sold monuments in the area for Ingram Monument and Vault Company. She was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church in Niceville.

Among survivors are her children, Pamela K. Frazier-Tanner (Michael) and Tana Renee Frazier. Her grandchildren, Rachel Renee Klein ( Bill), Dustin K. Thompson (Amanda) and Matthew D. Scarborough (Barbara). Three great grandchildren, Travis Paul Thompson, Brysen Wesley Thompson and Layla Kayona Scarborough. Her brother-in-law Dillis R. Frazier (Pam) and sister-in-law Geri A. Frazier and life-long friends Jim and Ouida Long.

Floral arrangements are being accepted or memorials may be made in Viona Frazier’s memory to favorite charities. A time of visitation will be Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 10 until 11 A.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel with the funeral beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Dr. Bobby Tucker officiating.
