VERA McHENRY PETERS

Mrs. Vera McHenry Peters, age 80, a life long resident of DeFuniak Springs passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, September 17, 2018 under the loving care of  her daughter and nephew.  She was born
July 31, 1938 in DeFuniak Springs, the daughter of Christopher Columbus “Lum” McHenry and Minnie Bearden McHenry.

Among survivors are her daughters, Cindy Mooney and Tina Marie Peters.  Her sisters, Hazel Bell and husband Elmer and Peggy Hudson and husband Steve.  Her brothers, Mac McHenry and wife Betty, Kent McHenry, Mercer McHenry and wife Sandra and Lonnie McHenry and wife Sherri.  Her sister-in-law JoNelle Hagle and husband Ross  and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Among those asked to serve as pallbearers are David Chandler, Andy Hall, Daniel Keeton, Eric Evers, James Rushing, Rusty Gainey and Ronnie Gainey.  Memorials may be made in Vera Peter’s memory to the American Heart Association.

A time of visitation will be Wednesday, September 19, 2018  from 10 to 11 A.M. with the funeral beginning at 11:00 A.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel with Reverend Wilbur Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in the Peter’s Family Plot in Cluster Springs Cemetery.
