Mr. Tommy Mitchem, Jr. age 43, a lifelong resident of Walton County passed away
at his residence late Friday night, July 23, 2021. He was born May 18, 1978 in Blytheville, Arkansas the son of Tommy Russell Mitchem, Sr. and Donna Marie Ivey Mitchem. Tommy was a graduate of Walton High School graduating with the Class of 1997. While a student he was actively involved in various school activities, FFA, Future Teachers of America, Youth for Christ and the Pep Club. He also enjoyed singing spiritual gospel music with various choirs in Walton County. For a time Tommy was a school bus driver employed by the Walton County Board of Education.
Among survivors are his son, Connor Riley Mitchem. His parents, Tommy and Donna Mitchem. His sisters, Jennifer Chisholm and husband Jerry and Susan Menser. The mother of his son, Debbie Michelle Manning Mitchem, his nieces and nephews, Mikey, Mandy, Dustin, Hunter, Wolfie, Deanna, Blaze and Saphie and one great nephew, Eli also survive.
Tommy will lie-in-state at his residence at 301 Mitchem Road, DeFuniak Springs and the funeral will be held in his home at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 27, 2021 with Reverend Howard Taylor officiating.
