Mr. T J Hall, age 92 of DeFuniak Springs passed away in the early morning hours Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the home of his son and daughter in law. He was born, February 11, 1922 in Mossy Head, Florida the son of Alex Franklin Hall and Nancy Adeline Price Hall. After high school he served his country with the United States Army Air Force in the European and Pacific Theaters. After his tour of duty ended he returned to Walton County. He met his future wife, Mattie while she was working as the projectionist at the Ritz Theater. Most will remember T J in his association with Creel Ford Company and later with Nelson Ford where he served as Service Manager. He had a knack with fixing things and in retirement fix a lot of things for Caring and Sharing where he became known as “Mr. Fix It”. He considered it his way of giving back to the community. T J loved to fish and loved to share with any who would listen his ability to catch fish without using any bait on the hook. He proved this ability several times, catching mullet using just a gold color hook. His last days were spent in the care of his son and daughter-in-law within just a few miles of where he was born. He is predeceased by his wife Mattie Clay, his daughter Annette Bartlett, his sisters, Alma, Thelma, Vied, and Ann and his brothers Kermit and Bud.
Among survivors are his son, Frank Hall and wife Linda, his daughter Cherry Starkweather and husband Mark. His grandchildren. Grace Adeline,
Rachel, Stephanie, Jason, Deborah, Lisa and husband Charlie and Alex and wife Jeanne. Among his great grandchildren is David Franklin Hall. His sisters-in-law, Joanne Wynn and Wilda Weidenhaft. His niece and nephew, Larry Williamson and wife June and Norma Hall.
Graveside services were held Saturday, September 20, 2014 in Magnolia Cemetery.
Burial followed in the Hall Family Plot.
