Sharon Asselstine Gladue, age 66 passed away right before midnight, Monday, January 4, 2021 in Healthmark Regional Medical Center. She was born February 7, 1954 in ElPaso, Texas the daughter of Virgil Damon Asselstine and Christine Elva Ammons Asselstine. Sharon moved with the family to DeFuniak Springs when her mom and dad wanted to be close to her sisters. After school in the early 70's Sharon joined the United States Air Force where she served until moving back to DeFuniak Springs with her kids. She worked in all of the local markets, Showell Farms, until it closed, Continental Apparel until it closed and her last employment was with Professional Products. Sharon was a big fan of radio her favorite being the Country Store on W-ZEP. For the past ten years Sharon's companion and friend, "Miss Kitty" was constantly by her side, but Miss Kitty died a few months ago.
Among survivors are her children, Michele Bender Martinez, Joe Gladue, Doug Gladue and Daniel Klink. Her sister, Pamela Jones and husband Stevie; her brothers, Gary Asselstine, David Asselstine and Lynn and Mark Asselstine and Karen. Eleven grandchldren and nine great grandchildren along with the Father of her Children, Michael Gladue also survives.
