Mrs. Sallyann Herdt Poindexter, age 67 of DeFuniak Springs passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012 in Chautauqua Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born February 3, 1945 in Glenburn, North Dakota the daughter of Walter and Ida Selseg Herdt. She moved to Ohio with her first husband and after marriage to her second husband who had served at Eglin Air Force Base, they had wanted to live in Florida. They moved to the area in 1976 eventually making DeFuniak Springs their home. Sallyann was an avid reader, enjoyed watching Days of Our Lives and was a country and western music fan.
Among survivors are her husband, Lee A. Poindexter. Their children, Bill and wife Denice, Ed and wife Sue, John and wife Petra, Leann and Gary. Ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive.
Floral arrangements are being accepted. Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in Cluster Springs Cemetery with eulogies by her sons Bill and John. Burial will follow in Cluster Springs Cemetery.
