Russell Keith Martin (Rusty) passed away in his sleep on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Born September 22, 1967 to Lowell Martin and Vivian Cassidy, Rusty was raised in Crescent City, California and moved to DeFuniak Springs, Florida in 2015. He was a retired crane operator and a member of Lifepoint Church in Crestview.
Rusty loved his dogs Charlie Mae and Sophia. His list of favorite things also included: rock concerts, family outings, walks with his nephew Dezmen, going fishing with his nephew Tyrone, and trying new things. His love for rock concerts was more than simply an appreciation for music, it was a reflection of his vibrant energy and passion for life.
A true family man, Rusty was loyal and invested. Taking his 2 nephews on adventures and taking advantage of every opportunity to spend time with them, he noted it truly warmed his heart to spend time with them and to watch the boys grow up.
Rusty leaves behind a niece, Jessie-ca Dawn Banuẽlos and 2 great-nephews, Tyrone Per-Geesh Banuẽlos and Dezmen Spey-Gee Banuẽlos. He is preceded in death by his father, Lowell K. Martin, his mother, Vivian M. Cassidy, and both sets of grandparents, Russell and Katie Rose Martin and Joseph and May Belle Cassidy.
Rusty infused every family gathering with his playful demeanor, a true jokester. He wholeheartedly embraced every moment and kept spirits high with his infectious laughter.
