ROSETTA ELKIN DAY

Mrs. Rosetta Elkin Day, age 91 of the Argyle Community passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 in Twin Cities Hospital.  She was born April 29, 1930 in North Loop Road, ( Indiana County), Pennsylvania the daughter of Robert Duff Elkin and Nellie Florence Marshall Elkin.   Rose was the bookkeeper and assisted her late husband Charles Allison in the operation of Day’s Service Station in Argyle.  She also helped with the beginnings of the Argyle Volunteer Fire Department with fund-raising and prior to the start of the “911” system, she answered the emergency phones and radio dispatched emergency calls.  She was a charter and lifelong member of the Argyle Baptist Church where she served as secretary for many years.  She enjoyed reading the Bible, listening to her music, writing letters, caring for her family and always being mindful of the needs of others. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She is predeceased by her husband Charles Allison , her son-in-law Wayne Mosley and   brothers, Richard Elkin and Emory Elkin and  her sisters, Jane Altman and Sally Wadding.

Among survivors are her sons, Charles Alan Day and wife Ann, John R. Day and wife Tamara Lynn; her daughters Susan Day Parker and husband Kent, and Sarah Mosley.  Her brother, Robert David Elkin and wife Joan.  Four grandchildren, Amy Day Abney (Danny),  Jonathan A. Day (Tammy) , Dacia Day (Jacob)  and Seth Mosley.  Four great grandchildren, Haleigh, Bradley, Blake  and Corbin.  .

A time of visitation will be Monday, September 6, 2021 from 10 until 11 A.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel with the funeral beginning at 11 A.M. with Reverend George Chestnut officiating.  Burial will follow in the Day Family Plot in Resurrection Ground Cemetery at Argyle Baptist Church.  Friends and family may go on line to view obituaries, offer condolences and sign the guest register at jerryevansfuneralhome.com
