ROBERT BRYANT DRAKE

Mr. Robert Bryant Drake, age 81 passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in a Pensacola healthcare facility.  He was born September 11, 1940 in DeFuniak Springs, the son of Paul and Faye Bryant Drake.  Robert attended Walton High School but joined the Air Force where he received his GED.  After serving a tour of duty he left the military and was employed with Lockheed in Atlanta where he met and married his wife Winnie.  After several other jobs he and Winnie moved back home to DeFuniak Springs  and Robert worked as a Corrections Office.  Like all guys born and raised in Walton County, Robert loved to hunt and fish.  Robert is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Winnie who passed away in 2009.

Among survivors are his sister, Janey French and four lifelong friends, Bud Lindsey, Johnny Irvine, Leonard Lindsey and Jimmy Mitchell.  He is also survived by his friend and companion Sweet Pea shown in the picture.
