Mr. Robert Woodrow McCollough age 80 a lifelong resident of Walton County passed away at the family residence early Thursday morning, March 25, 2010. He was born March 3, 1930 in DeFuniak Springs the son of John Thomas McCollough and Johnnie Verbina Andrews McCollough. Most will remember him in his employment with Henry Kober for twenty years and with the road department with the Walton County Board of County Commissioners for some eighteen years until retirement. Mr. McCollough was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church. He is preceeded in death by his parents, his sisters, Ferris Balkom, Wedel Nobles and Catherine Teal and his brother Fred McCollough.
Among survivors are his wife of forty eight years, Vivian Clarice Wilson McCollough. His son, Thomas Woodrow McCollough and wife Connie and his daughter Vanora Jean Spiller and Jim. His granddaughters Candice, Ariana, Sydney, Alexandria and Abbey and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
Floral arrangements are being accepted. A time of visitation will be Saturday, March 27, 2010 from 6 until 8 P.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel. Graveside services will be Sunday March 28, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in Sandy Creek Cemetery with Brother Earl Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Sandy Creek Cemetery.
