Mrs. Pauline Howell Wamble age 79 formerly of DeFuniak Springs passed away unexpecta Friday, October 2, 2009 in Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. She was born February 4, 1930 in DeFuniak Springs, the daughter of Oliver and Rachel Marie McCallum Howell. Pauline attended Walton High School, graduating with the class of 1948. She was employed for a time with Chemstrand, later joing her husband in the operation of his business, Fred Wambles Trucking Company. She was later Administrator with Walton County Housing Authority. In her later years she loved doing things around the house, canning, crocheting, cooking and baking and loved fishing. Her greatest joy in life was her family, her daughters and their husbands, grandchildren and more lately great grandchildren. She was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church.
Among survivors are her husband, Fred Wambles of Niceville. Her daughters, Sharon Macomber and husband Steve, Kathy Nixon and husband Johnny, Rita Parish and husband Mike and Paula Diann Alford. Her brother W. A. “Dub” Howell and wife Annette and her sister Ethleen Lindsey. Her sister-in-law Raynell Lane. Her grandchildren, Jon Ashley Nixon and wife Roxann, Jessica Pool and husband Mark , Julia Cartee and husband Jared, Misty Ellison and husband Jason and Katie, Kalli Morgan and Kailyn Parish. Eight great grandchildren also survive.
Floral arrangements are being accepted. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral time. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel with Dr. Johnny Nixon officiating. Burial will follow in Euchee Valley Cemetery.
