Mrs. Patsy Wells, age 79 passed away at the family residence early Tuesday morning, July 27, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born January 6, 1942 in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of Ernest Erskin Freeman and Bessie Essie Hampton Freeman. After high school Patsy lived for a while in Orlando but wanted to move to a smaller town. Patsy and Bill got in contact with Hank Douglass who sold them the place they made their home for the rest of their lives. Patsy was employed by County Government and later worked as a caregiver. She was a member of Center Ridge United Methodist Church. She is predeceased by her husband Bill Wells who passed away January 8, 1995 and her sisters Barbara Huffman and Julia Cannon.
Among survivors are her children, Christine Cooper and husband Tom; Debbie Mabry and husband Lloyd, Carol Andrews, Alex Wells and Mark Riebe. Eleven grandchildren, Jesseca Stafford, Billy Wells, Raben Wells, Rhett Howard, Jacinda Hudson, Jelena Hayes, Mark Riebe, Ashleigh Simmons, Andy Andrews, Corrine Cooper and D.d. Criss and a special granddaughter Brittany Alford. Her brother, Bud Freeman and wife Shirley, her sisters, Louise Pelky and husband Mac, Sandra Starr and husband Cal and Linda Carroll. Thirty five great grandchildren also survive.
Floral arrangements are being accepted. A time of visitation will be Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 10 until 11 A.M. with the funeral beginning at 11:00 A.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel with Tammie Strickland delivering the eulogy and Reverend Kurt McInnis officiating.
