Mrs. Pamela Mathis Odom, age 57 of DeFuniak Springs passed away Wednesday,
December 3, 2014 in Bay Medical Center in Panama City. She was born August 9, 1957 in Miami, Florida the daughter of Henry Colon Mathis and Virgie Davis Mathis.
After attending Miami public schools she moved to DeFuniak Springs in 1986. Her parents had moved to DeFuniak Springs in 1974. Later she moved to Freeport, Florida where she lived for about ten years. Many will remember her in her employment with Kelly’s IGA. She moved back to DeFuniak Springs in 1996 where she lived until her death. Pam was an avid fan of Dancing With the Stars, she loved reading and poetry, gardening and loved flowers and house plants. The last years of Pam’s life were spent battling her illnesses, but now the family rejoices in the assurance she now has a perfect body and her soul is at rest.
Among survivors are her son Daniel Thompson. Her grandsons, Denver, Hunter and Daniel Thompson, Jr. Her sisters, Joanne, Jeanette and Margaret and a special friend, Marilyn White.
Graveside services will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. in Mossy Head Cemetery with Pastor Louis Taunton officiating. Burial will follow in the Mathis Family Plot in Mossy Head Cemetery.
