NOLA ROSE ANN BISHOP

July 12, 1972 — September 5, 2021

Mrs. Nola Bishop, age 49 passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 in Twin Cities Hospital as a result of Covid.  She was born July 12, 1972 in Covington, Kentucky the daughter of Robert Edward McCubbin and Bonnie Ruth Beach McCubbin.   Nola was employed as a paralegal with Procter and Gamble .  When Jim first met Nola, in spite of her outwardly beautiful appearance, it was her heart he saw first.  Amazingly, it was the Sunday before Labor Day of 2006 they met and their last time together was the Sunday before Labor Day of 2021.  She and her husband Jim became the proud parents of two beautiful children that captured their entire lives. Nola loved the Lord, and had taught Sunday School for teen and preteen girls at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Independence, Kentucky.    She had a love of contemporary Christian music but old time hymns of praise from the old church hymnals held a special place in her heart.  In her home there are guitars and keyboards in every corner of every room and she used them in private family worship with her husband and her young children.  She had the innate ability to attract people; folks  immediately felt  at ease when meeting her and sensed a genuine quality in her.  So many shall miss her loving and caring ways.   As the pandemic spread it became apparent that Nola would not be able to survive and Jim and the children relied on their faith in Jesus Christ to find peace and comfort in their wife and mom’s passing and Jim realizes  he and the kids shall spend and eternity of Sundays before Labor Day when they all meet on the other side of Jordan.   If Nola could speak, no doubt she would quote one of her favorite Bible verses from the 3rd Chapter of Proverbs, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding".   The family were members and part of the fellowship of Woodlawn Baptist Church.    She is predeceased by her parents and her sister Lona.

Among survivors are her husband James Marvin “Jim” Bishop, Jr.   Her sons, Justin and Dylan and her daughter Madison;  her sisters, Donna, Susie and husband Kenny and Robin and husband Chuck.  Her brother Robby and wife Lois; her Aunt Marlene Bishop and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Those asked to serve as pallbearers are Kenny Webster, Robert Dearing, Troy Byers, Craig Harvell, Joe Johnson, Carl Glass and Kenny Reynolds.  Floral arrangements are being accepted.  A time of visitation will be Saturday from 9 until 10 A.M. in Woodlawn Baptist Church with the funeral beginning at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend David Lane officiating.  Burial will follow in Woodlawn Baptist Church Cemetery.     Friends may go online to view obituaries, offer condolences and sign the guest register at jerryevansfuneralhome.com
