Narsisa “Sis” Danley passed away Tuesday Morning, November 4, 2014 at the family home in the Jackson’s Still Community of North Walton County. She was born November 2, 1927 in Darlington, Florida, the daughter of Homer and Irene Harrell Cook . As a child, growing up in a large family, in the height of the depression on a farm, “Sis” learned at an early age the toils and responsibilities of pulling her weight. As a young girl she plowed an ox named Rowdy, a talent she learned from her grandpa who always called her “Sugar Girl”. Married at 16, she began raising her own family and later worked at Franklin Ferguson Company in neighboring Florala, Alabama. Sis loved country music and loved to dance. She is predeceased by her parents and four of her siblings, Lonie, Earnest, Clifton and Willene and her former husband R.B. Danley. Mrs. Danley was a member of Caney Creek Baptist Church.

Among survivors are her children, Elsie Pryor and Junior, Linda Powell, Audrey Hobbs and Clarence, Ellie Godwin and Billy Joe, Jessie Danley and Debbie, Jack Danley and Janet. Her brothers and sisters, Cleo, Earlene, Raymond, Minerva, Bernice, Lou Ellen and James. Thirteen grandchildren, Keith (Pat), Stephen (Charlotte), Craig (Tonya), Kenny (Rhonda), Michelle (Bill), Kimberly (Larry), Monica, David (Sandra), Jack, Dustin, Dylan, Ashley, Bradley. Thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren also survive.

Floral arrangements are being accepted. Those asked to serve as pallbearers are Robert Wilkerson, Henry Miller, Greg Reeves, Colby Reeves, Johnny Wilkinson and David Danley. A time of visitation will be Friday, November 7, 2014 from 6 until 8 P.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. in New Harmony Baptist Church with Pastors Raymond Williams, Gerald Sykes and Todd Kemp officiating. The family has requested casual attire (jeans) for those attending. Burial will follow in New Harmony Cemetery.
