NADINE PURVIS BOYKIN

Mrs. Nadine Purvis Boykin, age 90 of Darlington passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017 in North Okaloosa Medical Center. She was born August 23, 1927 in Darlington, the youngest daughter of ten children born to Marcus Lion Purvis and Mary Jane West Purvis. She married soon after finishing high school and lived in many areas where she worked in various dress shops and other retail shops. Because of the ill health of her daughter, she became a full time homemaker and in her later years, “came back home” to Darlington. She was noted for her delicious cooking skills and spent many hours in the enjoyment of old time Westerns like Gun Smoke with her best friend and companion Floyd Lester. She is predeceased by her husband Joe Boykin and her daughter Sharon Smith.
Nadine Boykin is survived by Floyd Lester and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held in Darlington Methodist Church Cemetery Friday, October 6, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Terry Smith officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Joe Boykin in Darlington Methodist Church Cemetery.
