Miriam Dubose, age 74 of DeFuniak Springs died suddenly in Flower’s Hospital, Dothan, Alabama Monday, April 30, 2012. She was born July 9, 1937 in Miami, Florida the daughter of Charles Grady and Pauline Louise Hallaren Hollingsworth. Miriam worked as an auditor with the Internal Revenue Service, later working in insurance and assisted her husband in the real estate business. She work for some time at Galilean Academy and in later life babysitting where she was affectionately known as “Granny” or “Miss Miriam”. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Dubose, Sr. who passed away in 1986 and three brothers, Arthur, Charlie and Tracy. She was a member of East Baptist Church.
Among survivors are her children, Debbie Cantrell of Dothan, Denise Stofila and husband David and Don Dubose all of DeFuniak Springs. Her brother, Harry Hollingsworth and wife Brenda of Atworth, Georgia. Her sisters-in-law Gloria Fuller, Doris Aldridge and husband Olan, Sue McKinnon and husband Ed. Her brothers-in-law Dewitt Dubose and wife Paula and Ronald Dubose and wife Linda. Eight grandchildren, Wendy, Johnny, Jeffrey, Tyler, Lizzy, Matthew, Crystal and Ashley. Eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild also survives.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 A.M. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in Jerry Evans Chapel with the funeral beginning at 11A.M. in the chapel with Mickey Strickland officiating. Burial will be Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 3 P.M. CDST in Cross Plains Church Cemetery in Cross Plains, Georgia.
