Mr. Milton N. McKenzie, age 82 of the north end of Walton County passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010 in a Crestview healthcare facility. He was born October 30, 1928 in Fairhope, Alabama the son of James King McKenzie and Daisy Smith McKenzie. Milton’s life was all about farming which to him was not only a source of livelihood but also his passion. Most days he would spend twelve to fourteen hours a day working the earth with his John Deere tractor, which to him was the only brand of tractor worth owning. Apart from farming he would help his wife Sally in growing and producing some of the most beautiful ferns available in this part of the country. A hard working Christian man, Milton spent his life doing what he loved best, farming. He was a member of Lakewood Community Church.
Among survivors are his wife, Evelyn (Sally) McKenzie . His sister, Bonnie Burmeister and husband Willie of Fairhope; his brother in law, James Bryan and wife Faye of Tillman’s Corner and numerous nieces and nephews and great and great great nieces and nephews.
Floral arrangements are being accepted or memorials may be made in Milton McKenzie’s memory to Lakewood Community Church, 6896 Long Road, Laurel Hill, Florida 32567. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 6, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel with Brother Wendel Ard officiating. Graveside will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, December 6, 2010 in Fairhope Memory Garden in Fairhope, Alabama.
