MARY LOUISE MABRY MANCIL

June 3, 1942 — October 4, 2018

Mary Louise Mabry Mancil went to meet the Lord on October 4, 2018 at 2:09 a.m. after an extended illness.  She was born June 3, 1942 in Pensacola, Florida to William Gregory Mabry and Josephine Elizabeth Carroll Mabry. Married to Billy Hugh Mancil for 58 years, Mary was a devoted wife and mother.  Before retiring to Seagrove, they established a successful general contractor business in Montgomery, AL, B.H. Mancil Construction Company.  She loved life, her family, and God.  Mary also loved music and singing in the church choir.  She had a passion for Auburn football, spending time at the beach and watching her favorite movies.  Mary was known for her vivacious personality and enjoyed spending time with friends playing cards and dominoes. Her humble selflessness was often demonstrated by her thoughtfulness for others.  She was a member of the Seagrove Beach Garden Club and volunteered making flower arrangements for homebound and hospital patients.  She was also a member of Pt. Washington United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Club, and the Monday Night Hamburger Club.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother William G. Mabry Jr., father in law Huey Mancil, mother in law Ethel Barfield Mancil and grandson Benjamin Anderson Spence, Jr.

Mary is survived by her husband Billy Hugh Mancil, daughter Merribeth Mancil Bazzell (Tommy) of Mandeville, LA; daughter Meredith Mancil Spence (Ben) of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; brother Bill Mabry (Denise) of Pensacola, FL; brother Gregory Mabry (Libby) of Foley, AL; brother Jody Mabry of Pensacola, FL; Grandchildren Josie Spence Michie (Brian) of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; Taylor Mancil Bazzell of Mandeville, LA; Sydney Meredith Bazzell of Mandeville, LA; and Annie Elizabeth Spence of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; Great-grandchildren Mary Allison Michie and Benjamin Hugh Michie both of Santa Rosa Beach, FL. Mary is also survived by her sister-in-law Rebecca Mancil Motes (Grady) of Andalusia, AL; brother in law Donnie Mancil (Patricia) of Middleburg, FL; brother in law Dr. Wayne Mancil of Andalusia, AL; and brother in law Michael Mancil (Martha) of Montgomery, AL.  Mary loved her many nieces and nephews which include Judy Pickens of Birmingham, AL; Mark Pickens (Gloria) of Birmingham, AL; Neal Mancil of Middleburg, FL; Jon Mancil of Orange Park, FL; Allison Mabry of Pensacola, FL; Nicole Sager of Daytona Beach, FL; Will Mabry (Leigh Anne) of Pensacola, FL; Natalie Mabry of Daytona Beach, FL; Adam Drake (Melanie) of Atlanta, GA; Megan Drake Ness (Dave) of Denver, CO; Gregory Mabry (Catherine) of Pensacola, FL; Jim Mancil of Montgomery, AL; Margaret Mancil Cosby (Chris) of Orlando, FL. and Jacob and Emma Mabry of Pensacola, FL.   Mary is survived by her life-long friend and maid of honor, Janelle Ennis (Dickie) of Andalusia, AL.  Mary is also survived by her best friends of 55 years, Ted and Millie Bozeman; Randy Bozeman (LaChele); Russ Bozeman (Andrea); and Terri Bozeman Lovell (Jeff), all of Hayneville, AL.

The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Christopher Truss and Dr. Brendan McGuire of UAB, the caring staff members of Emerald Coast Hospice, Pt. Washington United Methodist Church, her neighbors in Oaks of Eden and the many friends who enriched her life.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a gift in memory of Mary Mancil be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, Emerald Coast Hospice, managed by Kindred at Home, 200 Grand Boulevard Suite 205A Miramar Beach, FL, 32550 or University of Alabama Medicine Liver Transplant Center, 500 22nd Street South, Birmingham, AL  35233.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at Point Washington United Methodist Church, 1290 North County Highway 395, Santa Rosa Beach, FL  32459. Mary requested everyone come wearing colors to celebrate her vicacious life.

Committal services will  be held in Barrancas National Cemetery, One Cemetery Road, Pensacola, Florida 32508 on Pensacola Naval Air Station at 1:30 P.M. Monday, October 15, 2018 at Pavaiion "B".
