Mary B. Pinckard Gregory passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011. She was born May 19, 1924 in DeFuniak Springs. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of DeFuniak Springs. She graduated from Walton High School and Florida State College for Women (FSU). Mary worked at Warner-Robbins Air Force Base during WWII where she met her future husband, Dr. Ben T. Gregory. They lived in Okolona, Mississippi after the war and then moved to Pensacola in 1962 where Ben established his medical practice. Mary was a devoted housewife and mother and volunteered for many organizations including the Pensacola Garden Club, the Junior League of Pensacola and Baptist Hospital. She also earned a private pilot license and accompanied her husband on many enjoyable trips. She is preceded in death by her husband Dr. Ben T. Gregory; her father John Pinckard; her mother Annie Lou Davis Pinckard and brother John Pinckard, Jr.

Among survivors are her sons, Scott Gregory, Brian Gregory and wife Deborah, her daughter Robin Doane and husband Jim; grandchildren, Sean Gregory, Mariah Kloess, Ariel Gregory, Ian Doane, Jenna Doane and Lauren Doane. Her sister, Dorothy Reeves and brother E.D, Pinckard and wife Mary also survive.

Memorials may be made in Mary B. Pinckard Gregory’s memory to Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090 or to one’s favorite charity.
Visitation was held Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 9 until 10 A.M. with the funeral beginning at 10:30 A.M. Private graveside services were held later that day at 3 P.M. in Magnolia Cemetery with Dr. Larry Teasley officiating.
