Mr. Marvin Bill Floyd, age 75 of DeFuniak Springs passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011 in Healthmark Regional Medical Center. He was born April 6, 1936 in Walton County the son of Lester Lee Floyd and Annie Lee Rushing Floyd. Marvin was a veteran having served his country with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict . He served two years overseas in Japan during 1955 and 1956. Most will remember Marvin in his employment with the Florida Department of Transportation where he worked as an Engineering Technician.
Among survivors are his sons, Rick Floyd, Sr.; Randy Floyd and wife Lisa; Matthew Floyd and wife Stephanie; his stepdaughter Robin Langford; three grandsons, three granddaughters and one great granddaughter; his sister Junive Tucker and the mother of his children, Reba Jean Judson also survives.
Those asked to serve as casket bearers are R.J. Floyd, Austin Floyd, Donnie Thompson, James McHenry, Kayla Floyd, Shawnna Floyd, Nikki Floyd and Braden Floyd. Floral arrangements are being accepted. A time of visitation will be Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from 6 until 8 P.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel with Reverend George Katzman officiating. Burial will follow in Euchee Valley Cemetery with military honors.
