Martha B. “Pat” Mundy age 93 passed away Monday, September 14, 2009 in Sacred Heart on the Emerald Coast. She was born August 9, 1916 in Ona, Florida the daughter of William Fredrick and Attie Beatrice Strickland Mundy. Pat was a 1938 graduate of Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. In 1954 she received her Bachelor’s from Peabody College in Nashville. In 1958 she received her Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She accepted a position with Gadsden Regional Hospital as Director of Nurses, a position she held some fifteen years until her retirement. Pat was active in the Pilot Club and was an avid University of Alabama fan and religiously followed Alabama Football. She was part of the fellowship of Cherokee United Methodist Church in Gadsden.
Among survivors are her nieces, Reacy Little and husband Jack of DeFuniak Springs. Lorraine Morgan of Santa Rosa Beach. Two great nieces, Rachel Morgan and husband Ed Berry and Margo Yourick and husband Bill. Her great nephews, Ken Little and wife Gator and Clay Morgan and wife Cindy. Numerous cousins also survive.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in Point Washington Community Cemetery with Reverend Tim Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in Point Washington Community Cemetery.
