Our precious mother, Margaret Dunaway Wright Wesley, passed from this life to her promised eternal one on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 just over a month before her 89th birthday. She was born August 21, 1923 in Gordon, Alabama the daughter of James Curtis Dunaway,Sr. and Jessie Shiver Dunaway. Margaret had an exemplary work ethic beginning when she did laundry for families and picked cotton as a child. After graduation from Walton High School in 1942 she worked at Eglin Air Force Base as an airplane mechanic. She kept books for Casey's Grocery, worked in Medical Records at Lakeside Hospital and Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery, Alabama and retired from the U.S. Postal Service at age 77. The thing she would most like told about her life is that she loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart and gave the message of salvation to all she came in contact with. She was a member for more than sixty five years of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She is predeceased by her first husband, Lyman Lester Wright, her second husband Reverend John Wesley, brothers Thomas, James Curtis and Samuel Harrison Dunaway and sisters, Allie Evans and Belita Gail Waliser.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons and precious daughters-in-law Kermit and Brenda Wright and Warren and Sheri Wright. One daughter, LaJuana Rinker and beloved son-in-law Howard Rinker. Six grandchildren, Melissa Rinker, Ginger and husband Jeff Pittman, Joseph Wright, Brad and wife Chelsea Wright, Sarah Wright, Darrel and wife Rebecca Wright. Six very special great grandchildren, Jeffery, Mary Katherine and Wilton (Wils) Pittman, Margaret Rose (Maggie) Rinker, Riley and Raegan Wright. Her sisters, brother and brother-in-law, Mary Belle and Eugene Cuchens and Barbara Ann and Ed Dills and Donell Dunaway. Many revered nieces and nephews also survive.
Floral arrangments are being accepted or memorials may be made in Margaret Dunaway Wright Wesley's memory to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. A time of visitation will be Friday, July 6, 2012 from 10 until 11 A.M. in Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church on Live Oak Avenue in DeFuniak Springs with the funeral beginning at 11 A.M. in the church with Reverend Samue D.Dunaway and Reverend David Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Magnolia Cemetery.
