Mabert Richards

Mrs. Mabert Richards, age 87 passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 29, 2010 in Stanley House Assisted Living. She was born August 31, 1923 in Fairfield, Pennsylvania the daughter of Lillian Weaver. She was part of the fellowship of First United Methodist Church of DeFuniak Springs and was a member of East Highland United Methodist Church in Columbus, Georgia. She is predeceased by her husband, the father of her children, Marvin Fox and her second husband James Richards.

Among survivors are her children, Jennifer Fisher and husband Ronald of DeFuniak Springs; Gary Fox and wife Karen of Reading, Pennsylvania and Keith Fox and wife Sally of Dalton, Georgia. Her grandchildren, Nate Fox and Justine of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Steve Fox and Lindsey of Birdsboro, Pennsylvania. Her brother-in-law Bill Fox and wife Isabelle of Green Castle, Pennsylvania and her sisters-in-law Lucille Altman of Carlisle, Pennsylvania and Doris Fox of Hagerstown. Her beloved cat Alicia also survives.

Because of her love of animals, memorials may be made in Mabert Richard’s memory to any pet care or pet shelter. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 7, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. in First United Methodist Church of DeFuniak Springs with Reverend Rob West officiating. Burial took place Thursday, January 6, 2011 in Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.
