Lucille McInnis

Mrs. Lucille Chancey McInnis, age 93 of the Center Ridge Community of Walton County passed away Sunday, February 15, 2009 in Chautauqua Health Care Center. She was born June 8, 1915 in Enterprise, Alabama the daughter of John Wesley Chancey and Tommie Watkins Chancey. She was a member of Center Ridge United Methodist Church. Mrs. McInnis is predeceased by her husband, Sanford McInnis who passed away in 1995 and her son Melvin McInnis who passed away in 2000. She is also predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Erin, Johnnie, Hubert, J.W., Hillard, Elma and Lorene.

Among survivors are her children, Victor McInnis and wife Elly of Palm Bay. Daniel McInnis and wife Barbara of Niceville. Voncille McLeod and husband Roy of DeFuniak Springs. Her sisters, Frances Benefield of Tuscaloosa and Lurelle Luhta and husband Tom of Opelika. Her brother-in-law Robert Walker of Chipley and sisters-in-law Marie Chancey of Enterprise and Bertha Davis of Sumpter, SC Her grandchildren, Kurt, Ken and Vicki, four great grandchildren; Shelby, Jack, Carolyn and David and a special step granddaughter, Sandi Wood and special step great grandson, Tyler Wood. Special friend, Maudie Gressette. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Floral arrangments are being accepted or memorials may be made in Mrs. McInnis' memory to Covenant Hospice, 370 West Redstone Drive, Crestview, Florida 32536. A time of visitation will be Tuesday, February 17, 2009 from 6 until 8 P.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in Center Ridge United Methodist Church with Reverend Kurt McInnis and Reverend Nancy Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery.
