Mrs. Lois Bracewell Duvall, age 87 passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015 in The Manor at Bluewater Bay. She was born July 14, 1928 in Kinston, Alabama the daughter of Curtis Gillis Bracewell and Annie Elizabeth Burdick Bracewell. One of eleven children, Lois was born at a time in American history when folk everywhere knew "hard times". As was the custom of the day, children usually only attended school up to about second or third grade, because with larger families , everyone had a job and chores and had to pull their own weight. Being raised in a large family Lois learned early on the value of honest work, the importance of family, and faith in Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. These early "life" lessons carried her through both good times and bad, happy times and sad, and served as her foundation on her walk in life. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Dick Duvall, her son Raymond Harp and her brothers, Lamar, Manuel, Lavon, Floyd and G. B. Bracewell.
Among survivors are her grandchildren, Timothy Harp, Danette Borrego and husband Nathan, Virginia Darty and husband Jerry. Her brother, Ralph Bracewell, her sisters, Evelyn Ezell, Eloise Weeks, Louise Jinright and Elaine Currington. Her sister-in-law Shirley Bracewell and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will recieve friends Monday, November 23, 2015 from 10 until 11 A.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel with the funeral beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Wilbur Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Duvall Family Plot in Limestone Cemetery.
