Lloyd Clanton

Mr. Lloyd B. Clanton, age 91 passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009. He was born August 23, 1917 in McClellan, Florida the son of Luther B. and Dasie B. Catoe Clanton. Mr. Clanton moved to Brevard in 1962 from St. Augustine. He served his county during World War II and was a veteran of the Army Air Corps. He was Past President of the Melbourne Rotary Club, twice chairman of the Red Cross (Brevard City and South Brevard Red Cross) and was a former member of the South Brevard Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Melbourne since 1962.

Among survivors are his wife of 62 years, Mary Lou Miranda Clanton. His sons, Thomas Rhett Clanton and Charles Greg Clanton and his sister Hilda Nuckols. Five nephews also survive.

Floral arrangements are being accepted. Graveside services will be held Monday, March 23, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in Magnolia Cemetery with Reverend Rob West officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
