Kenneth Wayne Revell

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Wayne Revell, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, in his home in Santa Rosa Beach, FL, at the age of 67. He was born on August 18, 1957 in Albany, Georgia.

He was a devoted husband to his wife, Tasha Revell, for 25 years, and a devoted father to his children, Joshua and Rebekah. He was also an attorney, author, and gentleman farmer.

Ken received his law degree from Woodrow Wilson College of Law in Georgia and frequently said that he found the practice of law to be a calling, not a profession. Gifted in both law and business, he founded the law firm of Revell, Cole & Hoyt in Atlanta, Georgia immediately upon graduation from law school, which grew to into a substantial law firm with over 20 employees. He practiced in corporate, real estate, civil and criminal law, but his passion was always to defend those who could not defend themselves from injustice.

Ken was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to help another in need and frequently did so, especially with his legal expertise. He went far beyond the extra mile for clients and friends on numerous occasions.

Authoring his first book “Red Bugs, Moonshine and the Book of Leviticus” in 2000, Ken penned a series of endearing and humorous folk stories in the style of Lewis Grizzard interspersed with political commentary.

During the housing bubble of 2008, Ken, in response to what he always attributed as an impartation of wisdom from God, anticipated that a financial crash would follow. He and wife, Tasha, founded the law firm of Zalkin Revell, PLLC prior to the crash and spent the next 17 years diligently helping folks in the practice of financial reorganization law.

Ken developed an honorable reputation for boldly defending those persecuted by large banks and lending institutions in true “David vs. Goliath” fashion, and the sitting bankruptcy judge at the time stated that Ken had spearheaded the two most litigated bankruptcy cases that had ever had come before him in his time on the bench. This work resulted in the landmark Eleventh Circuit Case of In re Seaside Engineering, Inc. which has been cited more than 342 times.

Ken had a tremendous heart for struggling farmers in Southwest Georgia and handled numerous Chapter 12 cases allowing them to reorganize and continue farming. He was always bold and never backed down from a fight when needed to prevent an injustice.

He was also known for his love of animals, racing pigeons, farming and gardening, and more recently the breeding of top quality english cocker spaniel hunting dogs. But of all of his many accomplishments, Ken frequently stated that the birth of his children was the pinnacle of his life, that he loved them more than anything else in this world, and that his children always remained his primary focus and top priority until the day of his death.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tasha; his children, Joshua and Rebekah; and his brother Michael Revell. He was predeceased by his parents Sara Ann Cook and Carlton Lewis Revell and his sister Carla Ann (Revell) Lanham.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on April 12, 2025 at 2:00pm at New Life Church, 120 Kingdom Way, Santa Rosa Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Life Church, Santa Rosa Beach, FL in his memory. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald Family Funeral Home.
