Mrs. Joyce Spires Andrews, age 88 a lifelong resident of DeFuniak Springs passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022 in North Okaloosa Medical Center. She was born December 26, 1933 in DeFuniak Springs the daughter of Dr. Ralph Broadus Spires and Mary Hamilton Clement Spires. She was the co-owner of The Gift Bar with her much beloved sister Jaque Spence for many years. She loved to spend her free time making needlepoint stockings for alL of her children and grandchildren while watching Hallmark Movies . Joyce was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of DeFuniak Springs. She is predeceased by her parents, her sister, Jaque Spence and her great granddaughter Lydia Rose Shehee and her great grandson Gabriel Luke Callahan. The family wishes to thank their mother’s caretaker Tammy Gondreau and staff at Chautauqua Health and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care.
Among survivors are her children, Angela Shehee and husband Ed; Angus G. “Gus” Andrews, Jr. and wife Donna; Becky Andrews Garea; Ralph Spires Andrews and wife Mayra Her grandchildren, Joyelle Callahan (Chad), Ges Shehee, Will Shehee (Etta), Mac Shehee,(Katie), Angus Graham Andrews, III (Kendall), Luke Andrews (Suzanne), Laura Andrews, Mary Jo Mosley (Jeremiah), Amanda Reeves (Jason), Erin Andrews, Bridget Andrews, Leo Andrews and Channing Andrews and 30 great grandchildren. Her brother, Legare Spires (Betty) and three special nieces, Shari Anderson, Libby Irwin and Laurie McNew also survive.
Among those asked to serve as casketbearers are Ges Shehee, Mac Shehee, Graham Andrews, Luke Andrews, Leo Andrews, Channing Andrews, Steve Youell, Peck Cawthon and John Weeks.
Floral arrangements are being accepted or memorials may be made in Joyce Spires Andrews memory to First Presbyterian Church, 1063 Circle Drive, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 30, 2022 in First Presbyterian Church from 10 until 11 A.M. with the service beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Will Shehe officiating.
