Biography

Ms. Joy Nell Arrant Andrews, age 74 of DeFuniak Springs went to be with the Lord December 28, 2009. She was born March 30, 1935 in Santa Rosa County, Florida the daughter of JohnW. and Willie Sowell Arrant. A long time resident of Walton County, Mrs. Andrews was a Baptist by faith. She retired from her full time job with Monsanto Chemical Company in Pensacola and continued to work part-time for the next several years. When she finally, completely retired from her part time job at Maude Saunders Elementary she loved taking care of her flowers, strolling around the lake yard, watching her soaps, spoiling Buster and most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was a truly devoted mother and father to five children and a grandmother to many grandchildren.

Among survivors are her three sons, Johnny Andrews and wife Leticia of Hartford, Alabama; David Andrews and wife Jeong of Enterprise and Bobby Andrews and wife Marlene of Paxton. Two daughters, Sherrie Burgess and husband Greg and Sandra Baltzley and husband Ed all of DeFuniak Springs. Three brothers, Bill Arrant of Cantonment; Charles Arrant and wife Rhonda of Pensacola and Donald Arrant and wife Glenda of Gaskin. Her sister, Shelby Arrant of Cantonment. She is also survived by many, much loved nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren and by her beloved Chihuahua, Buster.

Floral arrangements are being accepted. A time of visitation will be one hour prior to funeral time, from 10A.M. until 11 A.M. Thursday, December 31, 2009 in Jerry Evans Chapel with funeral services beginning at 11:00A.M. in the chapel. Burial will follow in Leonia Cemetery.
