JERRY WAYNE BROXSON

Mr. Jerry Wayne Broxson, age 70 passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 at his residence in North Walton County.   He was born October 12, 1949 in DeFuniak Springs, the son of George Melvin Broxson and Ruth Olene Wood Broxson.  Jerry graduated from Bartow High School with the Class of 1967 and in 1968 joined the United States  Marine Corps where he served his country for over twenty years.  He then joined the Florida State Troopers where he worked for ten years until coming back home to North Walton County.  He worked with the Walton County Board of Education as a bus driver and later was employed by DeFuniak Herald Breeze for a dozen or so years.   Jerry was a part of the fellowship of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, DeFuniak Springs Ward.

Among survivors are his brother, Michael Broxson and his sister Barbara Ruth Stephens and husband Jimmy.

It was Jerry’s wish to be cremated and there will be no services.
