Mr. Jack Haney, age 91 of Freeport, Florida passed away at the family residence Tuesday morning, October 6, 2020. He was born November 18, 1928 in Denham Springs, Louisiana the son of David Monroe Haney and Nancy Caroline Anderson Haney. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served in Korea, later was employed by the Department of Defense as a Communications Management but most will remember Jack in his association with the Masonic Lodge and Shriners.
He was a member of Glendale Lodge # 225 and Hadji Temple of Pensacola, Florida. Arranging for transportation of sick children to the Shriner’s Hospital was a great part of Jack’s life and he dedicated countless hours in that pursuit. He is predeceased by his brothers, P.J., Dave, Jeff and Sid and his sister Vonnis.
Among survivors are his wife Susan Flowers Haney, Their sons, David (Pat) and wife Becky, Charles , Jeff and wife Leslie and Jason and wife Sarah. Seven grandchildren, Emily, Caroline, Matthew, Jackson, Andy, Gabriel and Lucas. His sisters-in-law, Janet Cunningham and husband J.T., and Jean Young; his brothers-in-law Bobby Flowers and wife Pam, Mike Flowers and wife Irene, Andy Flowers and wife Belinda, Doug Flowers and Keith Flowers also survive.
A time of visitation will be Thursday morning, October 8, 2020 from 10:30 until 11 A.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel with the funeral beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Jack Daniel Smith officiating.
