Gladys Floyd Cromartie died July 31, 2015 in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. She was born in Tampa, Florida but had lived in DeFuniak Springs since 1949. She worked for the Civil Service Commission in Washington, DC during World War II, for Lockheed Aircraft in California and for National Airlines in Tampa before moving to DeFuniak Springs where she retired as a Deputy Clerk in the office of Clerk of Courts for Walton County.
Survivors include her daughter, Dale Ellen Cromartie, her son, Joel Blake Cromartie, Jr. and wife Jacqueline and her grandsons, Justin Blake Cromartie and Carson Blake Cromartie.
The family has asked in lieu of flowers that memorials be made in Gladys Cromartie's memory to Covenant Hospice, 101 Hart Street, Niceville, Florida 32578.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 7, 2015 from 1:00 until 2: 00 P.M. with the service beginning at 2:00 P.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel . There will be a time of refreshment immediately following the service at The Corner Café (Mamies)
