Mr. Felix Wayne Maples, Sr. age 64 of DeFuniak Springs passed away at his residence Tuesday, October 28, 2008. He was born August 5, 1944 in Florala, Alabama the son of Thomas Charles Maples, Sr. and Felecia Beatrice Ward Maples. Mr. Maples attended Walton County schools and graduated with Walton High’s Class of 1962. He married in 1963 and lived in Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach where he was employed with Farrens Tree Service for some twenty years. The company was bought out and Wayne retired. After five years of retirment he then became employed with the Walton County Board of County Commissioners where he worked for some fifteen years. He was an outdoorsman and an avid FSU fan.
Among survivors are his wife Edith Maples. His son, Felix Maples, Jr. and wife Tina Marie of Baker. His daughter Tina Ann Maples of Pensacola. His grandson, Corey Maples and the mother of his children, Dollie Maples of Crestview.
Floral arrangements are being accepted. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral times. Funeral services will be Friday, October 31, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel with Reverend Lonnie Forehand officiating. Burial will follow in Euchee Valley Cemetery.
