Mrs. Faye Alford, age 67 of DeFuniak Springs passed away at the family residence Thursday, September 29, 2011 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born March 30, 1944 in Pensacola, Florida the daughter of Leslie Roland and Mae Lilly Kelley Blanchard. After graduation from high school Faye graduated from Mississippi College in Jackson, Mississippi with a Social Behaviors Degree. She was a case worker for the Welfare Department, now known Children and Family Services. Faye was a member of First Baptist Church of DeFuniak Springs.
Among survivors are her husband, Lamar Alford. Her daughters, Dr. Kelley Renton also of DeFuniak Springs and Catherine Alford of Pensacola. Her sister, Patricia Anderson of Fort Walton Beach and two granddaughters, Myra and Kyndal.
Memorials may be made in Faye Alford’s memory to Pregnancy Support Center or First Christian Academy , 216 East Live Oak Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida. A time of visitation will be from 10A.M. until 11A.M. Saturday, October 1, 2011 in First Baptist Church with the funeral beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Bill Bricker and Dr. Bobby Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Sandy Creek Cemetery.
