Mrs. Eva Teresa Brown, age 54 of the Eucheeanna Community of Walton County passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010 in Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. She was born September 8, 1955 to Malcolm Edward “Ted” Parker and Eva Lou Peterson. Teresa was employed at Chautauqua Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for over twenty five years, holding many and varied positions throughout this time. As echoed by many of her dear friends and co-workers Teresa brought a ray of light into each and everyone she made contact with during her shift, especially the most important concern to her in the facility, “her residents”; those she was dedicated to provide for and assure their care and comfort. When her own family was in need Teresa was always there. Matters of the heart, health or just being there for the birth of a new grandchild, niece or nephew were also her priorities. Aside from her career and family Teresa’s love were her flowers, plants and yard. Her family testifies, “she has been one of God’s truly greatest servants”. She is predeceased by her father and her grandson Noble Ryan Amason.
Among survivors are her husband of 26 years, Joseph Wayne (J.W.) Brown, an officer of New Brockton, Alabama Police Department. Her mother, Eva Lou Hanna. Her sons, Noble Spencer Amason, Jr. and Joseph Wayne (Joey) Brown, Jr. Her daughter, Amy Michelle Madden and husband Charlie. Her stepson, Daniel Ruben Brown, currently serving with the U.S. Army in Kuwait. Her stepdaughter, Mary Jeanne Squires and husband John who is serving his country in Afghanistan. Her brothers, Teddy Parker and wife Kathy; Fred Parker and wife Shala and Richard Parker and wife Crystal. Her sisters, Becky Ferreira and husband Rodney and Debbie Johnson. Nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a host of friends ands co-workers of Chautauqua Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, her second family.
