Mr. Ernest Rit Price, Sr. passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 in Flower's Hospital in Dothan, Alabama just eighteen days after his sixty-ninth birthday. He was born September 15, 1947 in Avon Park, Florida, the son of Earnest Young Price and Pearla Marietta Lewis Price. He met Sandra Lee Warren in 1965 and they were married June 26, 1974. For forty-two years they laughed and cried together, they raised their babies to adulthood together, they worked and paid the bills together, ponder the meaning of life and what it's all about together, remained faithful to God together and fought life's battles together until Monday morning when he could fight no more. "Papa', as he was affectionately known by the family lived the past sixteen years of his life, after he was forced into retirement by ill health, on the family farm where he had horses and hay and vegetables and barns and sheds where he kept his tools, and where he could fix just about anything. Nothing gave him more satisfaction than "riggin" something with baling wire and duct tape and making it work again, be it lawn mowers, cars, trucks, or broken tools. A man's man, he was tough, but he was fair and his grandchildren adored him. His love for his wife, nor her love for him was ever in question and the family rests in the assurance they will be together again.
Among survivors are his wife, Sandra Lee Warren Price, his children, Dawn Marie, Donna, Laura Lynn, Christopher, Ernie, Hanna Lee, Loveit Ann and Rhonda Sheree. Nineteen grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Price's wishes were for no formal services to be held, however his family hopes those who knew and loved Mr. Price will observe a moment of silence at 11:15 A.M. Sunday, to say or whisper a prayer, and enjoy time with their family and loved ones.
Sandy and the family wish to thank all who have called and responded with expressions of sympathy and also wish to thank the ICU Staff of Flower's Hospital for the love and care extended during this trying time.
