ELEANOR LOUISE NOBLES DURDEN

Mrs. Louise Durden age 86, passed away Sunday October 13 in North Okaloosa Medical Center. She was born January 24, 1933 in North Walton County, the daughter of Reverend Curtis James Nobles and Jessie Lee Bodiford Nobles. After attending school in Hacoda and completing her formal education she began a career in nursing, a great deal of the time at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola in the Nursey Department. It was in South Florida that Louise first introduced to Bingo which happened to be a favorite social event. Louise did not take the game lightly, and played to win. As years progressed, Louise began a career as a caregiver for the elderly and until ill health prevailed, she was in great demand for her services. Among all of these actives, she always had time for her children and grandchildren, the loves of her life, where she became most famous among family members for her biscuits and tomato gravy all made from scratch. Ultimately Louise went to live in Stanley House in DeFuniak Springs, where not only pursued her championship abilities in Bingo, but began taking painting classes which not only love but excelled at. Louise Durden's life was a full busy one, taking care of infants and eventually taking care of the elderly while maintaining "home" for her children and grandchildren. Bingo, Western movies, painting all filled her days and this life well lived now begins the next phase. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly L Durden, her sons, James Edward Ivey, Donald Eugene Ivey and Richard Earl Ivey, her brother, L.C. Nobles and her sister, Louyette Mildred Smith and husband John.
Among survivors are her children, Henry Lee Burgess Sr and wife Leritha, Sondra Sims and husband Gary, Desiree Brynes and Beth Burgess Sloan. Her brother, Harlon Nobles and wife Katherine, her sister-in-law Carolyn Williams and her brother-in-law James "Dub" Cruse and wife Ginne. Twelve  grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, nephew, Johnny Ray Smith along with numerous nieces and nephews who also survive her.
Among those ask to serve as pallbearers are Johnny Ray Smith, Gary Burgess, Skyler Burgess, Jamey Goddin, Vincent Elio, Anthony Elio, Gary (Geb) Edward Burgess Jr and Dicoda Burgess. Our family would like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice and the nursing staff at North Okaloosa Medical Center.
Floral arrangements are being accepted. A gathering of friends will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in Jerry Evans Chapel. Committal services will be held in Gaskin Cemetery with Reverend Kenny Montgomery officiating.
