Edward Patrick Bradley, Sr

The Bradley family regretfully announces the passing of the patriarch of their family, Edward Patrick Bradley, Sr., who slipped away on June 6, 2016. He was born August 28, 1929 in Missouri Valley, Iowa to Elmer Dudley Bradley and Bridget Irene Ryan. He was the second of three children. At age 17 Ed joined the Marines. He married Reatha Ellen Strahan on March 22, 1949 soon after his return from the Marines at the end of World War II. In the span of the next sixteen years Ed and Reatha were blessed with the birth of eleven children. He earned his masters in Aeronautical Engineering and worked twenty two years wit5h Mc Donnell-Douglas before becoming a civil servant at Eglin Air Force Base where he worked on the AMRAAM program. He retired from civil service in 1996 and has since resided in DeFuniak Springs. Reatha, his bride of sixty one years, as well as their youngest son, Peter, precede him in death.

Edward is survived by ten of his children, Julienne, Mary, Christine, Edward, Jr., Bridget, Susan, Daniel, Matthew, Andrew and Lawrence as well as twenty one grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren.

A Vigil (Rosary) Service and viewing will be held in Jerry Evans Chapel, Friday, June 10, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Saint Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Richard Dawson officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Live Oak Memorial Cemetery in Crestview, Florida.
