Mrs. Dorothy Hope Dadisman Gray, age 95 passed away at the home of her daughter Dorothy Dunnigan in DeFuniak Springs Thursday morning, July 23, 2020. She was born June 10, 1925 in Cumberland, Maryland the daughter of Frank and Goldie Ellen Laymire Dadisman. Dorothy graduated high school at Grafton High School in Grafton, West Virginia with the Class of 1944. She then went to work for the War Department in Washington, DC. By happenstance, one day as she was grabbing a cab in Washington DC a young GI, just coming home from the war , asked to share the cab. Two weeks later, they were married and moved to Louisiana. . He died just short of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Among survivors are her daughter, Dorothy Dunnigan and husband George, III. Her grandchildren, Linda Larsen, Sheryl Evans and husband Kenneth, Kathryn Henderson and husband James, Dorothy Burnham and husband Kenny, Judy Williams and husband Jason, Michele Henderson and husband Henry, Buddy Dunnigan and wife Angie and Joe Dunnigan and wife Kesha. Her half brothers, Frank Dadisman and wife Barbara and John Dadisman and wife JoAnn along with numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren also surviving.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Dorothy Hope Dadisman Gray's memory to Grace Baptist Church, 719 Root Road, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 27, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in Bible Believers Baptist Church.330 North Davis Lane, DeFuniak Springs with Pastor Dan Hershey officiating.
