Mrs. Dolores “Honey’ Danielson, age 86 passed away Monday, March 23, 2020 in North Okaloosa Medical Center. She was born November 18, 1933 in Aurora, Illinois the daughter of John L. White and Lorene Margaret Salmons White. Honey moved with her family to Florida, first Miami and then Key West where her parents owned and operated a restaurant. In 1950, while working in the restaurant a dashing Navy guy, stationed at NAS Bocachica began frequenting the restaurant and noticed Honey. Needless to say, she had noticed him too. After a few trips to the restaurant, Honey asked the sailor if he would be interested in babysitting her year old daughter and Raymond readily accepted. Upon arriving at the appointed hour, Honey told him her date had “stood her up” but Raymond hung around anyway…which was probably Honey’s plan. Two years later, they were married and Honey followed her sailor around the world, North Africa, Spain and even Milton, Florida. When Raymond retired after two dozen years, or there about, he and Honey bought a motor home and traveled the United States for ten years. In 1998, after having their fill of traveling, they remember the Milton, Northwest Florida area and decided to buy a piece of land and a mobile home and called DeFuniak Springs their home.
Among survivors are her husband, Raymond Curtis Danielson, their children, Linda Lorene Holibonich and husband Michael, Donna Ann Danielson and Bonnie Lea Danielson. Five grandchildren including Richard, Raymond, David and Shawn also survive.
