Heaven took another angel home today. Deonna “DeDe” Reynolds slipped into eternal peace February 3, 2014 at Healthmark Regional Medical Center, hosted in love by the wonderful, caring ICU staff and Dr. James Howell. Her last days were blessed with such love. DeDe was born March 11, 1962 at UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles, California, to David Kent Reynolds and Charlene Clark Reynolds. DeDe was a charming, intelligent child and at the age of 2 she said the Pledge of Aligence with perfect diction and clarity. She also was blessed with inner beauty, musical and artistic talents. She is survived by her mother, Charlene Clark Rushing and DAD, James Carlton “Cooter” Rushing. Sister, Lynita Nobles and Mom were at her side as she made her journey. She is also survived by her brother, David Scott Reynolds and wife Irina from Castle Rock, Colorado. Dede has six nieces, Christine Rodgers-Gibson and Theresa “Bugg” Reynolds of DeFuniak Springs, Katerina, Sophie, Abigail and Genieve Reynolds of Colorado and a great nephew, Tyler Lee Gibson of DeFuniak Springs.DeDe spent her time listening to music, enjoying Marlboros and Coca Cola, family gatherings and good food, Christmas and birthday presents. Anyone who knew DeDe knew of her generous, kind spirit and loved her. There is an emptiness in the house at 777 Paradise Island Drive, Crazy Acres also has an empty ash tray, chair and hearts. Her sweet spirit is a great loss to all.
DeDe was loving laid to rest Monday afternoon at the Glendale Memorial Nature Preserve. Family and friends are invited to gather with the family at Glendale Memorial Nature Preserve Sunday afternoon, weather permitting. Glendale Memorial Nature Preserve is off Highway 83 North in Walton County. Memorials may be made to the Preserve or to the hospital.
