CHARLES SHELTON MERRILL

Mr. Charles Shelton Merrill, age 89 passed away in the early morning of Friday, August 27, 2021 in Stanley House Assisted Living in DeFuniak Springs.  He was born July 26, 1932 the son of James Shelton Merrill and Martha Jane Mason Merrill.  He is predeceased by his wife, Mae Jean Merrill who died in May of 2017.  .

Among survivors are his children, Debbie Wyman and husband Bruce, Sharon Grizzle and husband Harry, Brenda Smith and husband Sammy and Paul Merrill and wife Connie.  His grandchildren, Shelley, Cory, Adam, Danielle, Lacey, Bailey, Emily, Hunter and Whitney.  His great grandchildren, Hagen, Rylee, Ella Mae, Noah, Jadyn, Brady, Ella Hartley, Kenzlie, Logan, Mercy, Josiah, Peyton, Ava and Stella.

Floral arrangements are being accepted or memorials may be made in Charles Merrill’s memory to Alzheimer”s Assocation, 225 North Michigan Avenue FL17, Chicago, IL 60601 or to one’s favorite charity.  .  Graveside services will be held Monday, August 30, 2021 in Beal Memorial Cemetery in Fort Walton Beach with Chaplain Tom Bize officiating.  Charlie will be laid to rest beside his wife.  Friends and family may go on line to view obituaries, offer condolences and sign the guest book at jerryevansfuneralhome.com
