Captain Kevin Allen Mueller, RN

Captain Kevin Allen Mueller, RN, age 34, of Destin, departed this life and entered his heavenly home on Thursday, July 6, 2017.  Kevin was born to Larry and Beverlee McGill on October 10, 1982, in Paxton, FL. He was adopted, nurtured and raised through childhood by Randall and Beverlee Mueller.  He graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School in 2001 and went on to successfully complete his Associate of Arts and Associate of Science in Nursing degrees in 2015.

Kevin married the love of his life, Angela Cox, on June 25, 2005, and they received their first beautiful blessing, Ansley Elisabeth Mueller, on April 23, 2010. Fisher Laursen Mueller completed this wonderful family on August 26, 2015. Kevin accepted Christ as his personal Savior on February 11, 2003, and was baptized at Gulf Coast Baptist Church. Together, Kevin and Angela lived their lives seeking His guidance and timing in every decision they made.

Kevin lived life to the fullest whether it was cheering on the Patriots or the Gators, fishing or hunting, paddle boarding or playing the guitar, praising God or preaching the Gospel, enjoying coffee or ANYTHING food. Kevin’s life epitomized YOLO (“You Only Live Once”), and he loved every second of it.

He was known for always preferring a hug over a handshake. He didn’t meet strangers, he met new best friends. His laugh was infectious and his smile would light up a room.  He was an enemy to no one and a friend/brother to everyone. Although constantly busy as a nurse and business owner while being actively involved in his church and community, nothing was more important than spending time with his family. He was loved by so many because he gave love to so many. He is dearly missed by his loved ones who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Angela; his daughter Ansley; his son Fisher; his Grandfather Norman Mueller; his parents Randall and Beverlee Mueller; his sister Karensa Mueller; his brothers Erik and Jason Mueller; his in-laws Carolyn Cox (Nana), Cliff and April Cox; Paul Anderson (Papaw); Karen Anderson Cox; Kathryn Cox Fitzgerald; Clifton and Anna Cox; Emily Cox; and many nieces and nephews who loved and adored him.  He is preceded in death by Larry McGill, his Uncle Jon King and several beloved grandparents.

We will honor Captain Kevin’s life at Village Baptist Church, on Friday, July 14. Visitation begins at 2:00 PM, his Going Home Celebration at 4:00 PM. A short graveside service will follow at Destin Memorial Cemetery. We will host a reception at Village Baptist Church after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Kevin A. Mueller’s memory to the following charities:
