Mrs. Bebe Chesser Whitehead passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. She was born January 19, 1935 in Freeport, the daughter of C.T. and Eva Jeanette Spence Chesser. Bebe attended Walton County Schools and received her degree from Berry College in Rome, Georgia. She was employed with the Walton County Board of Education in various positions for some twenty eight years. Bill and Bebe are part of the fellowship of Alaqua United Methodist Church.
Among survivors are her husband, Bill Whitehead, her son, Gene Whitehead and wife Brenda. A granddaughter, Morgan Whitehead. Her sister, Joann Balkom and husband Ronald. A brother-in-law Devon Whitehead and wife Pauline. Her sisters-in-law Johnnie Merle Strawbridge and Mary Ellen Edwards also survive.
Those asked to serve as pallbearers are David Earl Drake, Bobby Beasley, Patrick Pilcher, Glen Chesser, Bob Wilkerson and Shane Abbott. Floral arrangements are being accepted or memorials may be made in Bebe Whitehead’s memory to Alaqua United Methodist Church, Post Office Box 668, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. A time of visitation will be Friday, February 5, from 1 until 2 P.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel with the funeral beginning at 2 P. M. with Reverend Henry Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitehead family plot in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.Visits: 2
