Barbara Ann Wilkerson, age 81, of the Liberty community passed away February 22, 2023, in Sugar Land, TX surrounded by family. She was born January 29, 1942, in DeFuniak Springs, FL to Ernest T. Hall and Lovie Lee McCollough Hall.
Barbara graduated from Walton High School in 1960 and was the class Salutatorian. She received her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and her master’s degree from Troy State University. She was a teacher for over 36 years, and most of those years were at West DeFuniak Elementary School teaching 4th and 5th grades.
Barbara was known for her love of family, friends, Florida State Seminoles, and anything to do with numbers. In her retirement years, she was never without a Sudoku book. She wanted to make sure that her favorite and only grandson visited all 50 states with her, and she was able to accomplish that in 2022. One of her favorite sayings to her grandson was that he was her “favorite” and his response was always “I’m your only grandson, Granny!” They would both have a good laugh.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Ernest T. Hall, mother, Lovie Lee McCollough Hall, and infant brother Don Clinton Hall.
She is survived by daughters, Donna Wilkerson of Sugar Land, TX; Terinda Watson (Tim), and one of her greatest joys, grandson Trey of Tallahassee, FL. Numerous cousins and close friends also survive her.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from 7-9PM at Evans-McDonald Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 11:00AM at Cluster Springs Baptist Church with interment following at Cluster Springs Cemetery.
