Ann Marie Griggs Watson, age 65 passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 in Sacred Heart of the Emerald Coast. She was born May 27, 1956 in Florala, Alabama the daughter of James Jack Griggs and Milbra Ann Rushing Griggs. After attending New York public schools she met and married Dan Arndt and followed him to Texas where he was a member of the United States Air Force. When her marriage ended she met and married Ron Novak, Jr. who was also a member of the Air Force and moved with him to his station at Eglin Air Force Base. After that marriage ended she ended up in Walton County, where she found true happiness in church membership at New Life Holiness Church, and her charmed marriage to Harold Watson. “Squinky” as she was known by family members will be remember by most in this area through her employment with Bobbie Jeans and the Tom Thumb on 83. Ann loved going to church, praising her Lord and Savior and found true enjoyment being around her husband, children and grandchildren.
Among survivors are her husband Harold Watson, her children Jason Arndt, Billie Jo McIntire and Ronnie Novak. Her grandchildren, Sarah McIntire, Christian McIntire and wife Rielly, Matthew Sims, Nathan Sims and Sophia Sims. One great grandchild is on the way. Her siblings, Bobby Griggs and Christine, Linda Ashley, Debbie Donley and Don, Wendy Scott and JD, Jackie Griggs and Rosie and Cathy Abernathy and Bruce. Her half brothers-in-law, Lynn Watson and Little Jo, Earl Watson and Dawn and Harley Miller and Peggy. Her half sisters-in-law, Carolyn Watson, Hazel Marlow and Kathryn Wise and Bruce. Also surviving are her companions and the loves of her life, Jack and Jeb, her loving dogs.
Floral arrangements are being accepted. The family is suggesting that Covid protocols be followed. A time of visitation will be Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 9 until 11 A.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel with the funeral beginning at 11 A.M. with Brother Kenny Montgomery officiating.
