Biography

Mrs. Annie Maude Collinsworth Sunday age 86 passed away Monday evening in Chautauqua Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born January 27, 1925 in Gaskin, Florida the daughter of William Manuel and Georgie Irene Harper Collinsworth. Annie attended Walton County Schools graduating from Walton High School with the Class of 1945. She and her late husband Lloyd “Ted” Sunday were married in March of 1952. She was the typical “farmer’s wife” of that era and was not only a homemaker but assisted Ted in the operation of their family farm and the many duties that go with it. As was the case with most wives and mothers of that day Annie was an excellent cook, and was noted for her excellent “bisquits from scratch” cooking skills. She loved gardening, growing flowers and fresh vegetables and in her later years and the advent of televisions in every home, she became an “As the World Turns” fan, hardly ever missing an episode. She is predeceased by her husband, her sister, Bernice, her brothers Corbett and Willie and an infant son, Stanley Dale.

Among survivors are her son Tony Sunday and wife Kathy. Her grandson, Blake Pryor and wife Nicole. Her brother, Bobby Collinsworth and wife Hazel. Her sisters, Nellie Pryor, Mildred Schofield and Clarice Cox and husband Gordon. Her sisters-in-law, Ilena Collinsworth, Myrtice Sunday and Juanita Laird. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Floral arrangements are being accepted. A time of visitation will be from 10 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 21, 2011 with the funeral beginning at 11 A.M. Friday in Jerry Evans Chapel with Brother Wilbur Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunday family plot in Cluster Springs Cemetery.
