Mrs. Annette Howell, age 76 of DeFuniak Springs passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 in Healthmark Regional Medical Center. She was born October 8, 1942 in DeFuniak Springs, the daughter of Walker Hamilton and Annie Lindsey Hamilton. She graduated from high school in Gainesville later moving back to DeFuniak Springs in 1962. Most will remember Annette in her association with Dr. B. J. Brown and Dr. Dick Weise. She then worked in the billing department for the Walton County Ambulance Service, later opening her own ambulance service, Mid Transport. Most recently she and her husband own and operate D & A Landscape until ill health forced Annette’s retirement. Annette always had a love of gardening and had quite the “green thumb”. She and Dub in their leisure time were avid Wheel of Fortune fans.
Among survivors are her husband W. A. “Dub” Howell; her son, Warren Howell and wife Amanda, her grandchildren, Brandon, Ashton and Hailey. Her great grand children, Parker and Saylor, her brother, Alchus Hamilton and her sister Muriel Hicks and long time friend and business associate, John Singletary. Numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.
A time of visitation will be Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 1 until 2 P.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel with the funeral beginning at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Wilbur Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Euchee Valley Cemetery.
